Glitter makeup (without looking like a disco ball)
Are you ready for Christmas and New Eve time? Have you bought your golden or silver outfit? It is every tempting to match your makeup with your outfit, but will you invest in new products for those celebration nights? There are very few occasions in the year to dare glitter touch. Maybe in the summer time or for a party.
My advice to you is to invest in 2 main products: glitter powder and strass. With those products, you will able to play with your existing makeup and customize it.
For the lips:
First draw the line of your lips with a lip liner, then apply a creamy and colorful lipstick with a lip pencil. For a better long-lasting effect, add some gloss on your lips. Take some your glitter powder with your lip pencil and apply all over your mouth. My favorite colors for the lipstick? Red, orange or prune. And for the powder, you can choose the same color or contrast with gold or silver effects.
If you choose glitter lips, just try to avoid a “total” look and keep your eyes and you skin quite nude. You will look far more sensual.
For the eyes:
For sure, you can find in store fake glitter lashes, or glitter mascara. But you can also use a creamy eyeshadow and spread your powder all over the mobile eyelid. If you don’t have any creamy eyeshadow, you can also use a gloss on top of a mat eyeshadow to fix the powder.
You can also be minimalist and mix your liquid eyeliner with some glitter powder, and draw a thin line on the base of your lashes. For a hint of glamour, try smokey eyes and align 3 strass jewels on the outer corner of your eyes.
Why not marrying glitter lips and eyebrows, while keeping the eyes lids and lashes without glitter or strass? You can use a brown or transparent mascara to brush your eyebrows and then apply on top the same glitter powder as used on lips.
For the nails: choose a powder or strass whose color contrasts with your nail polish color. Apply your nail polish and then apply base coat, where you want place your strass with a wooden stick.
If you want to draw a feature (like a star or just a line), do it first with your base coat then spray the powder and blow out. The powder will stay on the base coat and the rest will vanish. Add a top coat to fix either the strass or the powder.
Do you have any other ideas on how to use glitter or strass on your face?
