Stay protected and attractive while skiing
Do you plan any ski holidays soon? Being born in the French Alps, I can help you for sure when it comes to a special “ski beauty bag”, made of preventive and rescue products. You find hereafter a few tips to stay protected and attractive during your coming ski holidays.
USE SUN PROTECTION
How many of us have their skin burned on their 1st ski day and looked like a lobster for the rest of the week? The UVA and UVB being very aggressive in the mountains, always get your sun cream tube or a stick in your jacket and from the very first day. The women suffering from hyper pigmentation on their face should use sun cream with very high anti-UVA-UVB protection. Using sun cream is however not enough to avoid the development of brown marks, so don’t forget to protect the top of the face with a hat, to cover the forehead where the marks are often concentrated. Never forget the lips outline, where the marks can also easily appear after sun exposure.
NOURISH YOUR SKIN
The cold temperature, the wind and the sun can make your skin very sensitive. So every evening after a gentle shower and face cleaning, your whole body could benefit from a generous nourishing treatment. It can consist in a rich balm for the face, and cream for specific areas of the body such as feet, hands and legs. Best is to keep socks, and use moisturizing gloves all over the night to increase the cream effectiveness.
You have forgotten your lip balm? Apply some honey on your lips to nourish them. It may be at start an odd feeling but the sweet taste is indeed very nice!
HIDE FACIAL WOUNDS
Because of the cold (-30°C), I was forced to close my ski jacket to the highest level and the closure was constantly scrubbing my chin, which was already quite sensitive. I decided to use the Invisible Protection plaster of Hansaplast to protect my chin and prevent any severe and awkward facial wound. Because it was visible and discrete, I had no hesitation to use it!
SAY YES TO MAKE UP AND NICE HAIR
Your face, your head and your eyes are likely to be wet, due to perspiration or bad weather conditions (snow, rain, fog). Add a hat that keeps your hair greasy…How would you then dare removing your sun glasses and your hat on the terrace? Well, do not over do your makeup but simply use waterproof mascara and non greasy eye shadows. Then, always keep a hairband in your pockets to get your hair disciplined.
What are your beauty “must haves” for your ski holidays?
