One of my favorite parts about summer is that people, for the most part, get really into wearing colours. A nice flower dress here, a pair of green shorts there – your mood is as bright as the sun and so are the outfits you’re wearing. Surely that has got to be one of the reasons why a strong trend this summer are brightly coloured nails. I’ve seen them on the beaches of Miami, in the streets of Berlin and in the cafes of Milan. Bright nails are such a must-have this summer, that almost every big clothing-chain in the western world started selling a selection of summer colored-nailpolish alongside their usual collection.

So which colours are on trend? An unlikely choice but very hip is flourescent orange. No joke! Totally down-to-earth women such as Garance Doré or Nora Tschirner are sporting this look that represents a veritable highlight in any outfit. Not orange but still flourescant is my personal favorite for this summer – hot pink. I’m delighted that this season pink nails are not a synonymous with 5-year-old girls who play with barbie but pretty much any woman who likes to have fun and show it.

Another favorite I’ve noticed is a minty turquoise. Here below spotted on ever so stylish New Yorker Christina.

This is a nice alternative for all those among you who like the idea of a stylishly colored nails but are not quite ready for the yellows amd oranges of this world.
