When your feet betray you
Yes, our feet can really betray us. We can spend hours on cleaning our face and body, applying make-up, adding beauty accessories, having a new fresh hair cut, a brand new coat, and a wonderful manicure. And then, we are invited by our friends to leave our amazing shoes right at the entrance of their super clean flat and suddenly, when your feet are placed next to your friends, they can really let down your overall look.
Maybe you had a pedicure two months ago and the nail polish has partially vanished? And our bare feet could do with a better polish than the parquet floor of our friends’ flat.
Maybe, a strange smell is coming from your socks… with a hole in the toe as well! And you don’t know if you should laugh or cry about it.
We all know the cause is not always a hygiene issue. We are sometimes not as lucky as others. As far as I’m concerned, the corn on my foot is quite developed, and walking a lot in Paris doesn’t help. Having a pedicure in a spa every three weeks can be pricey and restricting in the long run. That’s why I decided to do it myself at home and test a few beauty products.
I now have the same weekly ritual and my partner has noticed the difference. First, I use a special peeling gel under warm water that helps soften my skin. At the end of my shower, I use a rounded pumice stone. The pumice stone makes a difference, because it is not too harsh and it is easy to hold. It gently removes dead skin. And the final touch will be a foot care cream.
When it comes to odour, cleaning the feet may not be enough to avoid bacteria and unpleasant odours to develop. That is why it is recommended to use an antiperspirant for feet! Like the one we use every morning to treat armpit perspiration which is refreshing and has a nice smell. I tested the new Silver Active spray by Hansaplast. I especially like the soft smell which can be suitable for both, men and women. It reminds me of the nice odour of bathing gel. But don’t worry, the smell while nice is still discrete and does not stick to socks and shoes which is definitely another plus. I mean, in the end an unnatural, persistant smell when taking our shoes off would rather reveal than solve the foot problem, wouldn’t it? Besides this, it does not have an excessive cooling effect, which is good news especially during winter time.
Why is it named Silver? Because of the silver ions in the formula which help reduce bacterial infections and foot sweating. This technology is already used in Hansaplast’s plasters with successful results.
The product is very skin friendly and feels nice and soft on my skin without being sticky at all. It has a proven broad-spectrum antiseptic effect and is highly effective on a broad range of germs, even in small concentrations and over a long period of time.
